Your adventure begins with arrival at Entebbe International Airport, Uganda (or Kigali, Rwanda, depending on your route). From there, embark on a scenic drive through lush countryside to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park or Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Upon arrival at your eco-lodge or forest camp, settle in and enjoy a briefing on the upcoming trekking experience. Relax and soak in the sounds of the forest, preparing for the exciting days ahead. Enjoy a hearty dinner and an early night to rest up for the trek.

Rise early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Today’s trek will take you through dense forest trails in search of one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek can last anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, but every moment is filled with anticipation and awe. Once you find the gorillas, spend a precious hour observing these gentle giants up close — watching their social interactions, feeding habits, and playful antics. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax, reflect, and share stories with fellow travelers.

After a leisurely breakfast, choose from a range of optional activities such as a nature walk, bird watching, or visiting a local Batwa community to learn about their traditional lifestyle. Alternatively, you can embark on a second gorilla trek permit (if booked) to experience the magic again with a different family. In the afternoon, enjoy a soothing massage or simply unwind at your lodge surrounded by breathtaking forest views. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner with locally inspired cuisine.

After breakfast, bid farewell to the forest and begin your journey back to the airport. Depending on your schedule, stop at scenic viewpoints or local markets to pick up unique handicrafts. Arrive at Entebbe or Kigali in time for your onward flight, carrying unforgettable memories of your rare and intimate encounter with one of nature’s most incredible creatures.
