Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your guide and embark on a scenic journey southwest to Lake Mburo National Park, a compact but biodiverse gem known for its rolling acacia-dotted hills and abundant wildlife. Enjoy a stop at the Equator Crossing for photos and local craft shopping before arriving at your lodge inside or near the park. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive to spot zebras, elands, topis, impalas, and perhaps a shy leopard. As evening sets in, relax with sundowners overlooking the park’s gentle landscapes.
Start your day with a guided walking safari, one of Lake Mburo’s unique offerings, allowing you to get close to nature on foot — spotting wildlife and learning about the ecosystem firsthand. After breakfast, set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda’s world-renowned gorilla haven. The drive takes you through breathtaking scenery — lush hills, banana plantations, and rural homesteads. Arrive at your lodge nestled in the forest, where the air is cool, the mist is thick, and the excitement is building for your gorilla trek.
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before your gorilla trekking experience. With a ranger and trackers, you’ll hike through thick jungle terrain in search of a gorilla family — a journey that’s as exhilarating as it is humbling. Once found, you’ll spend one magical hour observing their movements, expressions, and family dynamics in complete awe. Return to your lodge for a hearty lunch and rest, or opt for a cultural visit to the nearby Batwa community to learn about Uganda’s indigenous forest people.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and optional nature walk near your lodge before beginning the return drive, retracing your path through the highlands of southwestern Uganda. Depending on your preferences, spend a relaxing evening near Lake Mburo for a soft break in the journey, or proceed to Entebbe for an overnight stay before departure. Whichever route you choose, take time to absorb the serenity and hospitality Uganda offers at every turn.
On your final day, if staying in Entebbe, you may visit the Botanical Gardens, Craft Village, or Lake Victoria shores for a relaxed end to your journey. Your guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight — carrying with you extraordinary memories of both the savannahs and the misty mountains of Uganda.
